Liam Senior, a recent member, has reached out to the JNZBC regarding the Christchurch-Kurashiki disabled youth exchange programme. In short, they are looking to relaunch the programme but need new sponsors and partners who can help make it possible once again. If you might be able to assist in any way, whether through sponsorship or other forms of support, we would be very grateful if you could reach out to Gus Fahey, the committee chairman. A wonderful celebration lunch was held at the Japanese Embassy in Wellington to honour Ian Kennedy, recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star. Click here to read Ian’s speech.

Melanie and Mark Baker-Jones from Te Whakahaere presented at the BNZ Event on 16 September, following their recent visit to Japan during which they meet with a number of Japanese financial institutions and corporates, as well as the Financial Services Agency. Their report provides a comprehensive guide for Japanese companies on climate-related financial disclosures, highlighting key challenges, opportunities, and strategic approaches to climate risk.
